Bill Brosseau

Winegrower & Winemaker

Bill Brosseau has spent many years as a vineyard manager and winemaker. Involved with his family’s vineyard since childhood, Bill enrolled at the world-renowned UC Davis School of Viticulture and Enology. He complimented his education with harvests at Pine Ridge and Chalone wineries while attending UC Davis. Upon graduation in 2000, Bill joined Testarossa Winery as Enologist and quickly worked up the ranks to Winemaker in 2003. These past 18 years, Bill has continued to refine his craft as Director of Winemaking at Testarossa, working closely with twenty different vineyards up and down the Central Coast. Testarossa was recently recognized as “Winery of the Year” by Connoisseurs’ Guide. In addition to his tenure at Testarossa, Bill is the vineyard manager and winemaker for Black Ridge Vineyard and Eden Estates in the Santa Cruz Mountains. When Bill is not immersed in the winery or vineyards, he can be found spending time with Kilene and their children enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and fine dining.

Kilene Brosseau

Director of Operations

Kilene Brosseau was introduced to fine wine and food at an early age while growing up in the East Bay. Kilene also enrolled in the UC Davis School of Viticulture and Enology and has worked vintages at Atlas Peak and Savannah Chanelle Vineyards. She further honed her wine knowledge and hospitality skills working in the tasting room at William Hill in Napa Valley. Once the subject of starting a family came up, she elected to obtain her teaching credential; she currently teaches at Stevenson School in Carmel. Now that the kids are getting older, she is getting back into the day-to-day winery’s business operations, in addition to teaching. Kilene enjoys the beach, traveling, fine cuisine, and spending time with Bill and their children.

Jon & Jan Brosseau

Brosseau Family

In the early 1970’s, Jon and Jan Brosseau had dreams of raising their family on a vineyard estate. This vision became a reality in 1978 with the purchase of the future home to Brosseau Vineyard high in eastern Monterey County. Two years later, the vineyard was planted, allowing Bill to be raised in an unique vineyard setting. Following graduation from UC Davis in 2000, Bill joined his parents with a more active, professional role in helping run the vineyard. Since then, Bill has grown and marketed Brosseau Vineyard fruit to prestigious wineries, launched the Pinnacle Wine Festival, created the Brosseau Wines label, married Kilene, and started a family. Now that the vineyard’s third generation is coming of age, Jon and Jan look forward to sharing the history of the family’s home vineyard and creating new memories with their grandchildren – as they did with Bill.
